We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for a Researcher to join our Study Operations team at our Bloemfontein site. This role is ideal for enthusiastic individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional research environment and build a long-term career in animal health research.
Primary Job Purpose
To support the execution of scientific studies by performing technical research procedures, handling animals, and managing laboratory and administrative study tasks, ensuring compliance with study protocols and regulatory standards.
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in day-to-day research activities such as dose preparation, observations, sample collection, and other related research tasks to ensure safe and successful study practices
Record and handle raw data ensuring accurate and consistent information for departmental and study use
Interact, socialize, and handle animals to ensure content, well-adjusted and cared for animals
Maintain assigned laboratory spaces and equipment in good working order and cleanliness
Timely reporting of study adverse events to the Study Director/Investigator
Assist with study master file administration, including, but not limited to the preparation and close-out of files, raw data reviews, data management tasks and preparation of the final study master files for shipment and archiving
Work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to support successful study execution
Required minimum education and experience requirements
Degree in Natural or Biological Science
1-2 years relevant research experience
Desirable Skills and Experience
Specialisation in Entomology, Parasitology, or Zoology is considered highly beneficial
Experience in the CRO (Contract Research Organization) industry will be an advantage
Previous experience in maintaining insect breeding colonies is advantageous
Multilingual abilities, particularly in French or German, are advantageous

Valid driver's license required
