Job Description
- Co-ordinates and contributes towards projects, by compiling and executing technical project activity plans.
- Identifies the need for human resources in projects and manages the allocated resources.
- Assists with compiling and managing project budgets.
- Plans own work activities.
- Utilises and maintains own facilities, material and equipment.
- Conducts research support, diagnostics, and other services.
- Collects, captures and processes data with basic analysis.
- Provides verbal and written reports on work activities and results.
- Adheres to occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations during project implementation.
- Provides guidance or mentorship to junior team members or interns.
- Assists in the preparation for presentations.
- BSc or BTech in Plant Production/Horticulture/Plant Sciences or any other relevant qualification.
- Experience and understanding of fruit tree breeding will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with plant breeding protocols, such as controlled pollination, hybridization, and selection.
- Knowledge in the safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals.
- Competence in using agricultural tools and machinery safely and effectively.
- Proven expertise in horticulture and plant production techniques, with a strong focus on fruit tree breeding and propagation methods will be an added advantage.
- Registration with a relevant scientific registration body will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- A valid Code EB driver's licence and ability to drive.
