Job Description

Main purpose of the job:

• To facilitate and aid in the recruitment and follow-up of patients which will require the nurse to work flexibly to ensure the successful working of the EFFECT Phase 3 clinical trial
• They will also act as a patient advocate providing support and assistance as required

• Helen Joseph Hospital, Johannesburg

• Recruitment, Screening, and Follow-up with study participants
• Clinical Assessment (Venepuncture, cannulation, and blood or urine sample processing)
• Administration (Assist with preparation of study materials, day-to-day management of the trial, ensuring compliance with standards of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ensuring records are kept in regards to study recruitment, screening, losses to the study, and enrolment)

• Diploma or Degree in Nursing
• Professional Body Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)

• 1 year of Nursing experience in Clinical Trials

• Certification in good clinical practice and HIV Management
• Experience working in a research environment
• Ordered and systematic with strict compliance to protocols
• Tactful, respectful, and maintain confidentiality
• Good administrative skills together with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Pro-active and adaptable
• Able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Driverxe2x80x99s license and own car
