Research Finance Administrator (1 Year Contract) Internal Vacancy

Job Description

Administration and monitoring of the financial transitions for external research funding awarded to the grant holder. To provide appropriate Management and administrative support to all Grant holders in accordance with the grant holders which includes the Standard Operating Procedures, and in accordance with the institutional policies and procedures.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • A relevant National Diploma or degree, preferably in economics and management sciences, accounting, finance or related
  • At least two years' relevant experience in finance or administration.
  • Relevant experience in external funding (DHET, UCDG and CHEC), recommended.
  • Preferably have worked in a department or faculty at Higher Education Institution

  • Administration of claims
  • Compliance: external sponsor & internal funding
  • Handling correspondence through liaising with internal and external stakeholders Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assisting with Audits
  • Data capturing and record keeping
  • Administering grant holder linked postgraduate scholarships or bursaries
  • Back-up support

  • Computer Literacy in MS Office Suite
  • Bookkeeping skills
  • Knowledge of ITS and I-enabler software packages
