Job Description


Purpose of position:

As a Rental Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating rental transactions and providing exemplary customer service to clients. You will be responsible for managing rental inquiries, coordinating property viewings, assisting with lease contracts, and ensuring a smooth rental process. Your excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of the rental market will enable you to excel in this role.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Gr. 12;
  • Valid drivers license with own reliable vehicle;
  • Computer literacy: MS office suite, online listing platforms such as Property24;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Afrikaans, English, Northern Sotho or Sepedi;
  • Previous experience in real estate, property management, or customer service is preferred;
  • Knowledge of local rental market trends and competitor analysis.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to handle various client situations professionally;
  • Flexibility to work on weekends or outside regular business hours, if required;
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Interact with prospective tenants and answer inquiries and provide information about available rental properties, lease terms, rental agreements, and associated processes.
  • Property Listings: Assist in creating and updating property listings by gathering accurate information including property descriptions, features, amenities, rental prices, and high-quality photographs. Ensure that all listings adhere to company standards and guidelines.
  • Tenant Screening: Conduct initial screening of potential tenants by verifying their rental history, employment status, and conducting credit checks when required. Communicate screening results to property owners and facilitate further assessment as needed.
  • Property Showings: Coordinate and schedule property showings for interested renters, ensuring properties are in presentable condition. Address questions or concerns raised during showings and provide accurate information about the property.
  • Lease and Agreement Preparation: Assist in the preparation and finalization of lease agreements, rental applications, and other related documents. Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of rental applications, lease agreements, tenant communication, property maintenance, and other relevant documentation. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about current rental market trends, rental rates, and competitor offerings. Provide insights and recommendations to property owners regarding pricing or improvement strategies to attract and retain tenants.
