National Renal Care seeks to recruit an ambitious, talented, goal driven and self-motivated individual to fulfil the role of a Renal Care Specialist. The Renal Care Specialist will be responsible for ensuring all unit quality audits are done and the improvement of patient outcomes for the area under their management. Render and promote cost effective, safe quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and policies. KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS

  • Ensure that all patient clinical records are maintained and updated in accordance with the deadlines, policies & procedures and the NRC standards.
  • Ensure that all financial policies and procedures are followed in the unit i.e. confirmation, billing, private patients, stock, waste etc.Manage and maintain all medical equipment in accordance with NRCxe2x80x99s technical policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all NRC quality initiative programs are utilised for the patients under your management.
  • To provide optimal patient care as per the nursing scope of practice and NRCxe2x80x99s clinical care pathways
  • Improvement of Patient outcomes (QIxe2x80x99s) for the area under your managementSubmission and usability of standard monthly clinical reports as per the clinical departmentxe2x80x99s requirements with the Machinery and Occupational Safety Act.
  • The effective functioning of the training academy in your area i.e. all programs are implemented and are being trained in line with the training schedule.Unit Manager clinical training i.e. Implementation of focused clinical training based on the clinical results of the unit.
  • The complete implementation of the following in the area under management: i.e. Clinical Needs Analysis, Clinical training plan/In-Service Training, Patient Education and Research,Ensure compliance to Occupational Health and Safety regulations, policies and procedures in the units under your management.Demonstrate the National Renal Care Values and Caring the Netcare Way in all my behaviourValues: Staff Care, Passion, Joy, Ethics & Integrity, Customer FocusBehaviours: Show my respect, identity, dignity, compassion, appreciation

  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/ Midwife or Registration with HPCSA as a Clinical Technologist (Independent Practice)
  • Nephrology Nursing Diploma or Btech is essential.
  • Relevant experience in the nursing discipline
  • Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation
