Role Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and qualified

Remedial Teacher

who can provide targeted academic support across all subjects in the

Intermediate Phase

, while also teaching

Afrikaans (Grades 4-10)

. The ideal candidate will be committed to learner development, able to identify and address learning barriers, and work collaboratively with staff and parents to ensure every child thrives.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across all subjects in Intermediate Phase and Senior Phase subjects Teach Afrikaans First Additional Language to learners in Grades 4-10 Design and implement individualized remedial programs based on learner needs Conduct assessments to monitor progress and adjust interventions accordingly Collaborate with class teachers, support staff, and parents to develop learner support plans Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress, and feedback Create a nurturing and structured learning environment that promotes confidence and academic success Participate in staff development, school events, and continuous improvement initiatives

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or equivalent teaching qualification Specialization or certification in Remedial Education or Inclusive Education (advantageous) SACE registration (or eligibility) Proficiency in teaching Afrikaans (Grades 4-10) Strong command of Intermediate Phase and Senior Phase curriculum across all subjects Experience working with learners who require academic support or intervention Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to learner development
