Job Description
Our client is looking for a teacher with a fresh perspective and the ability to learn and enjoy a challenge of a school that offers remedial and vocational/technical education.
- This is a small private high school (Gr 7 - 12) in Kyalami
- The candidate would need to be willing to teach a handful of learners in a practical environment
Requirements and skills:
- Post Graduate Certificate in Education and/or a Bachelors Degree in Education
- Experience with neuro diverse learners is a plus. He/she should be knowledgeable in the different learning styles of special needs students and teaching methodologies.
- Is proficient in administration such as lesson planning.
- Can work closely with a curriculum structure without official textbooks but can develop creative, meaningful, practical teaching material.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to focus on practical side of hospitality and consume studies such as cooking and baking etc
- Dynamic and adaptable
- Have the appetite to work in a non-traditional school environment with remedial/ non-academic learners
- Ability to coach and inspire
- Great communication skills with parents required
- Grade 4 to Grade 9 academic level to be taught
- The teacher needs to be comfortable teaching 14 - 19-year-olds who function at the cognitive and emotional level of a senior primary student.
