The Motor Industry Bargaining Council (MIBCO) was established in 1952 and is one of the largest bargaining councils in South Africa, with 350 staff members who serve 19 000 employers and 300 000 employees in the South African Motor Industry. The Council operates through its Shared Services Centre in Randburg, Gauteng and 6 Regional Offices countrywide.
The Bargaining Council represents two employers' organizations and two trade unions who are the Parties to the Council and administers a range of collective agreements concluded by the Parties. Operations cover a wide range of issues related to the promotion of labour peace and stability, social security funds, dispute resolution and related matters.
The Council is seeking to employ a Regional Manager for the Kwazulu Natal Region (Pinetown). The Kwazulu Natal region covers the Richards Bay Satelite Office.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Align the regional objectives to the national strategic objectives.
  • Manage day to day operations of the Region.
  • Maintains communication regarding the collective agreement with establishments to
  • promote healthy industrial relations within region.
  • Manage external relationship of stakeholders.
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring that the registration of new establishments and annual inspections in line with the targets within a region occurs.
  • Oversee the legal process collections through the Dispute Resolution of MIBCO
  • Ensure the collection of returns through the management of regional credit control;
  • Host and attend regional and national management meetings.
  • Manage Human resources and ensure development of staff.
  • Manage Performance and conduct appraisals of staff.
  • and Develop and manage regional budget.

Qualifications & Experience requirements
  • BA/ LLB Degree/ Business Management Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years Collective Bargaining experience and knowledge,
  • 5 years senior management experience required.
  • In-depth knowledge of the MIBCO Collective Agreement and Fund Agreements in a Bargaining Council will be an advantage.
  • Must have experience of the Labour relations Legal environment.
  • Human resource and financial management experience required.
  • Performance management experience.
  • Project management experience; and
  • Development and management of regional budget.
  • Computer literate - SAGE, Microsoft 365 required.
