Job Description


Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Matric.
  • National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years experience within a support environment.
Key Performance Areas:
Report to the Divisional IT Supervisor
  • Users:
  • Setup new users.
  • Diagnose and solve user problems.
  • Assist users in maximising the IT investment.
  • Provide users security training and awareness in conjunction with system tools.
  • Ensure users log calls for support with the helpdesk.
  • Infrastructure:
  • Desktop support.
  • LAN support, including printers, phones, scanners, IP devices like biometric clocking readers, Wi-Fi etc.
  • Troubleshoot and log calls with suppliers and communicate with Head Office.
  • WAN support - be the onsite go-to-person with regards to installations and repairs.
  • Server administration.
Anti-virus and Windows updates. * Back-ups (centrally managed; administered locally).
  • Power/UPSxc3x82 - ensure core services are running smoothly and report maintenance requirements.
  • Software licensing, report unlicensed software and maintain records of any specific local software purchased, such as CAD software.
  • Suppliers:
  • Obtain quotes and follow the procurement process.
  • Assist suppliers where needed.
  • IT Team:
  • Work as part of a team of IT support staff nationally.
  • Assist more junior staff in the region.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement drives.
  • Administration:
  • Conduct general IT administration.
