We are looking for a skilled SAQCC-registered Category B Refrigeration Technician with strong technical expertise and practical experience in industrial Ammonia (R717) refrigeration systems.
Requirements:
- Refrigeration Mechanic or relevant artisan trade test
- 5+ years' hands-on experience working with ammonia-based refrigeration systems
- SARACCA/SAQCC Registration Category B certificate for Ammonia (R717)
- Valid driver's license
- Exposure to: Multi-stage and single-stage refrigeration systems, screw compressors, gyro units, and air purgers
- Medically fit or able to obtain a fitness certificate
- Install, maintain, and repair Ammonia (R717) refrigeration systems
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnose faults in refrigeration units
- Conduct routine and preventative maintenance, including lubrication checks
- Install system components: compressors, evaporators, condensers, pumps, valves, purgers
- Ensure strict compliance with safety and environmental standards - particularly ammonia handling protocols
- Communicate effectively with clients and provide technical support
- Maintain accurate service reports and documentation
- Escalate repair and upgrade requirements to supervisors
