Refrigeration Mechanic
Job Description
A well-established industrial company is looking for an experienced Refrigeration Mechanic with strong expertise in ammonia-based refrigeration systems to join their team in Mafikeng, North West. The ideal candidate must hold the necessary certifications and demonstrate hands-on experience in industrial refrigeration maintenance and repair.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on refrigeration systems
Diagnose and repair faults in ammonia refrigeration units
Ensure systems operate safely and efficiently
Maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations
Complete service reports and maintain maintenance records
Monitor system performance and recommend improvements
Assist with installation and commissioning of new refrigeration equipment
Ensure proper stock levels of parts and refrigerants are maintained
Requirements:
Valid Ammonia Category B license
Recognised Refrigeration Mechanic Trade Certificate
Prior experience working with ammonia-based systems
Ability to work independently and respond to breakdowns
Strong problem-solving skills
