Job Summary
Our client, a prestigious turnkey engineering and steel fabrication company, seeks to employ a qualified and experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in the Engineering, Civil or Steel Structure sector to join their team in Cape Town.
Please note that this role is NOT suited to candidates from the building sector, but rather candidates from the piping, mechanical or structural steel construction fabrication and installation sector.
KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION
- You will have a tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, coupled with 3-5 years experience in large scale projects, specifically in piping, mechanical and structural steel fabrication and construction projects.
- You will have sound working knowledge of pre- and post contract functions such as cost planning, value engineering, feasibility studies, risk analysis, tendering compilation, claims management, estimations, project scheduling, reporting and preparing of final accounts
- You will have experience in measuring and recording site information, managing variations and progress reporting.
- You will have a solid understanding of contract preparation, ideally NEC3 and prepare Bill of Quantities.
- You will be organised, high energy and a keen eye for detail.
- You must have a valid driver's licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
