(Limited Duration Contract - Project Based in SA)
Are you a meticulous Quantity Surveyor with a passion for contributing to a sustainable future? My client is on the lookout for a dynamic professional to join their renewable energy team. As a Quantity Surveyor with them, you will go beyond the conventional, bringing your expertise in quantity estimation and strong contract management skills to the forefront of our projects. Your meticulous eye for detail will play a pivotal role in optimizing project costs and ensuring the seamless execution of our renewable energy initiatives.
Minimum Requirement

  • Professional qualification or degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • 5 -15 yearsxe2x80x99 industry experience as QS with contract management experience.
  • Experience in electrical/plant industry is ESSENTIAL.
  • Minimum of 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience managing multiple projects.
  • Must have extensive civil, mechanical, structural piping, electrical, and instrumentation experience.
Responsibilities
  • Lead a team or project commercial department.
  • Follows and complies with Company and project procedures.
  • Promotes ethical behaviour.
  • In conjunction with the Project Manager, perform budget validations and project cost forecasts in granular detail.
  • Ensure maximum profitability on projects under his/her control by proactively approaching your duties and exercising commercial acumen.
  • Prepare cash flows and update them as necessary.
  • Analyse the timing of sales and costs.
  • Ensure good working relationships with clients.
  • Promote and maintain high professional standards. Administration, document presentation, appearance, conduct.
  • Compile monthly reports as directed by the Commercial Manager.
  • Identification of risks and opportunities on the project and to the Company
  • Carry out monthly measures on site and prepare interim evaluations to include all values relating to labour materials management, plant and equipment, and escalation.
  • Monitor progress on site to ensure that where applicable claims for recovery of loss and expense are submitted timeously and agreed with the client, liaising with the Project Manager, and referring to the appropriate conditions of the contract.
  • Highlight to the Commercial Manager areas in which target cost and sales are not being achieved using a monthly report.
  • Monitor, mentor, and develop junior employees.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as assigned from time to time.
  • Supports Project Manager in maintaining project management documentation (Project Management Plan (PMP), Risk Management Plan (RMP), Scope of Works (SOW), WBS Dictionary, Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RAM), etc.).
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner.
  • Works autonomously with direct supervision.
  • May require travels to the various Project sites.
  • Liaise with the Project and contractor teams to ensure the consistent basis for all project costs and plans.
