Introduction
Are you a detail-driven Quantity Surveyor with mining experience? Our client, a leading name in the mining industry, is looking for a highly competent and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their operations at a coal mine in Mpumalanga. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-value projects and contribute to cost efficiency and operational success in a fast-paced plant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for plant-related projects
Monitor, track, and control project expenditures against budgets
Evaluate contractor claims, variations, and payment certifications
Assist in the preparation of tenders and support contract negotiations
Compile and present cost reports and financial forecasts to management
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, company standards, and procedures
Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to achieve project goals
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related field
5+ years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in the mining sector
Proficiency in cost estimation tools and MS Office Suite
Solid knowledge of contracts and procurement practices
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
Ability to manage workload independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
