Our client, a leading mining company, is seeking a qualified and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team at a concentrator plant in the Northern Cape. This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control for the plant's operations and projects. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing project in the mining sector. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the concentrator plant operations.Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct cost estimation and budgeting for various plant projects.
- Monitor and control project costs to ensure adherence to budgets.
- Evaluate and assess contractor claims and variations.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents and contract negotiations.
- Provide regular cost reports and forecasts to management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in quantity surveying within the mining or mineral processing industry.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
