Quality Specialist Manufacturing
Port Elizabeth - Eastern Cape - South AfricaReporting to the Quality Assurance Officer, you will be key in maintaining and enhancing product and process quality within a manufacturing and OEM environment. You will be responsible for driving quality improvements, ensuring product compliance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a high-performance environment. Experience in an OEM and manufacturing setting is essential.Minimum Requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
• Diploma in Quality or related field (preferred)
• Certificate in Quality Assurance (advantageous)
• Green Belt certification (advantageous)
• Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing and OEM environment
• Basic understanding of Lead Acid Battery processes
• Technical proficiency in quality systems such as IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, Lean, Six Sigma, and Poke-Yoke is critical.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and other industry standards
• Develop and support quality systems and procedures for a single site
• Implement and validate continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Poke-Yoke)
• Conduct internal audits (VDA 6.3, system and layered process audits)
• Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective/preventative actions
• Enhance supplier performance and conduct development audits
• Oversee product inspections, verify BOM, and manage product deviations
• Handle customer complaints and implement long-term solutions
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve quality issues
• Promote a culture of safety, health, and environmental awareness
