Reporting to the SHERQ Manager as part of the SHERQ department. The main purpose of the job is to ensure that Quality standards of the Business Unit is implemented and maintained, and that compliance to ISO 9001 and ISO 3834 requirements are adhered to and that the Quality objectives are met. Ensure compliance to QMS standards, applicable codes, customer, and legal requirements. Compile procedures, implement and maintain these and conduct internal and supplier audits.
Raising and effective closing of NCRs. Manage & co-ordinate all QC activities, QC inspectors, NDT, PWHT, fabrication sub-contractors. Review of all QC & admin documentation. Address all technical, construction & welding related queries & ensure that the QC dept. & all sites are running efficiently by liaising with the client & AIA.
Duties:
-Organise and inspection of allocated group contract.
- Ensure that site activities are checked and monitored according to laid down procedures.
- Interface contact with inspection authorities customer representatives and company employees
Requirements:
QUALIFICATION
- Grade 12
- Artisan or National Diploma, (Mech Eng.) or similar
- SAIW - Inspectors Level 2
- SAIW - Radiography Interpretation
- SAIW - ASME Codes of manufacture
- International Welding Technologist (Preferred)
EXPERIENCE
- Proficient in MS Office
- Should have served a recognised, apprenticeship in the engineering field and 5 years post qualification experience.
- Strong supervisory role in the discipline of inspection, testing, construction, installation & commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Extensive experience in inspection, fabrication & installation of Steam Generators, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, high pressure steam piping, storage tanks, steelwork & ducting.
- Excellent working knowledge of materials and welding consumables e.g., Stainless steels (304L, 316L, 310S), low alloy steels (P3, P4, P5A, P5B, P15E), plain carbon P1 steels etc.
- Excellent working knowledge of welding processes e.g., MMA, TIG, FCAW & MIG/MAG.
- Must have a good knowledge of welding defects i.e., the causes & prevention measures.
- Must be proficient in reading isometric & engineering drawings, weld symbols & P&IDxe2x80x99s.
- Excellent working knowledge of codes ASME 1, ASME II, ASME V, ASME VIII, ASME IX, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, EN 12952, EN 12953, ISO 9606-1, ISO 15614/15609, & EN 13480.
- Sound knowledge of NDT procedures for RT, MT, PT, UT & PWHT.
