Quality Control Inspector - Welding & Fabrication (12-Month Contract)
Location: Simonstown Dockyard
Contract Duration: 1 Year (Mobilization: September 2025)
Security Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret-level Security Clearance required
We are seeking a highly experienced Quality Control Inspector with specialized knowledge in welding, fabrication, and piping systems to join a high-compliance marine project team. This role is critical in ensuring all works meet the highest quality standards, in alignment with engineering specifications and project requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- N4-N6 or equivalent technical qualification
- Trade Certificate (preferable)
- SAIW Level 2 Senior Welding & Fabrication Inspector certification
- Valid Code B Driver's License
- ISO 9001:2015 Awareness
- In-depth understanding of relevant design codes and specifications
- Expertise in small and large bore piping, tubing, plate work, structural components, and manipulation techniques
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, material grades, pre- and post-weld heat treatment procedures
- Experience in compiling, reviewing, and approving data books
- Ability to develop and align Quality Control Plans (QCP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) with engineering and regulatory documents
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Familiarity with quality standards in marine or similar heavy engineering environments
- Reliable, professional, and collaborative team player

All roles require candidates to be eligible for Security Clearance at Secret level.
