The QA Engineering Lead is responsible for defining and executing a unified quality vision - from shaping the automation landscape to aligning Agile practices across multiple teams.   • Define and drive QA strategy and automation roadmap across the technology landscape.
  • Guide Agile teams in converting business requirements into actionable test scenarios.
  • Lead the creation, optimisation, and enforcement of scalable automation frameworks and QA tooling.
  • Identify, resolve, and remove technical impediments to ensure smooth delivery cycles.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, DevOps, product managers, and business stakeholders.
  • Drive risk assessments, mitigation plans, and issue resolution in both proactive and reactive QA scenarios.
  • Own and analyse QA metrics to track team performance and software quality trends.
  • Champion a culture of customer advocacy, integrating user expectations into every phase of QA planning.
  • Establish and maintain quality governance principles and alignment across teams.
  • Mentor, coach, and evaluate QA engineers, managing their career paths and performance reviews.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies and promote standardised practices across squads and delivery streams.
  • Oversee quality-related continuous improvement efforts, identifying opportunities for innovation.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Experience:
  • Demonstrated success leading QA teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and aligning Agile practices across multiple squads.
  • Strong background in automation strategy, tools ownership, and technical QA execution.
  • Track record in building scalable testing frameworks and delivering high-quality releases in complex environments.
  • Experience driving QA strategy and transformation across distributed teams or enterprise environments.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Advanced understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Strong communication skills xe2x80x94 able to clearly convey technical and non-technical ideas to all levels.
  • Proficient in test automation, integration pipelines, performance testing, and defect management tools.
  • Ability to mentor and coach QA engineers, set clear KPIs, and deliver actionable feedback.
  • Skilled in Agile facilitation, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and team retrospectives.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and risk assessment capabilities
  • Adaptability in fast-paced environments and resilience under pressure.
  • Capable of aligning QA activities with business and product goals
  • Experience in the online gaming or casino industry is advantageous.
