Job Description
An opportunity for a Qualified Diesel Mechanic, who is highly motivated and results-driven has just opened up. A Trade Certificate is essential with a minimum of 10 years' experience in opencast mining/construction/earthworks or similar industry.
Minimum Requirements

- Must be qualified and hold a Trade Certificate: Diesel Mechanic/Earth Moving Mechanic.
- At least 8 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a similar environment (opencast mining / construction / earthworks) specialising in heavy earthmoving equipment, but not limited to Caterpillar, Volvo and BELL.
- Valid contactable references must be made available.
Will include but are not limited to the following areas:
- To ensure that all the relevant pre-start checklists are carried out by the relevant operator on a daily basis.
- Ensure that the relevant maintenance procedures are adhered to
- Monitoring of equipment availabilities on a daily basis
- Carry out relevant services on the respective plant items.
- Diagnose problems from electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
- Minimise plant downtime and treat downtime with a sense of urgency.
- Ensuring that the Companyxe2x80x99s preventative maintenance systems are adhered to.
- Fault finding and repairs of machines.
