Job Description
Gentle dental Umhlanga is looking for a cheerful and pleasant qualified dental assistant who assists the dentists during clinical procedures, provides patient care, maintains infection control standards, and manages dental equipment and materials.
Key responsibilities:
Prepare treatment rooms before and after procedures
Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments Eg high volume suctioning, mixing materials, passing instruments, adjusting overhead light.
Take dental xrays
Perform infection control and sterilization of instruments
Take dental impressions
Apply topical flouride
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post care treatment
Administrative duties:
Schedule and confirm patient appointments
Manage patient records and update charts
Maintain inventory and order supplies
Liaise with dental laboratories
The dental assistant needs to follow strict cross infection protocols. Disinfect and clean treatment areas and dental chairs. Comply with health and safety regulations.
Excellent communication and patient care skills. A certified Dental assistant qualification is mandatory. No experience required
