Our client, a renowned manufacturer specializing in hygiene products, is currently seeking a proactive and seasoned Procurement/Purchasing Manager to fulfil the role of Senior Buyer in Kempton Park, Gauteng. Seeking a skilled negotiator with analytical abilities, experience in commodity buying, and the capability to manage supplier relationships independently. This individual should excel at planning and research, as well as understanding the base costs of materials.Minimum Requirements For This Role:

• Industrial Engineering Degree or relevant training in Procurement/Supply Chain Management.
• Formal negotiation training is highly required, and CIPS certification is highly advantageous
• Demonstrated experience within FMCG or Packaging industries (that focus on direct retailer service) - a combination of both would be ideal.
• Strong analytical skills with a knack for identifying opportunities across product ranges.
• Proficiency in ERP systems. (Syspro or similar)
• Proven track record in procurement/purchasing management roles.
• Thorough understanding of supply chain techniques and best practices.
• History and proof of deliverables.
• Understanding of base costs of material, cycle and percentages, dynamics of supply demand, someone who can break down elements that break up supply and materials, inflation in category, commodity buying, and understanding of elements that determine ultimate pricing.
• Experience working with an executive team
• Expert negotiation, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
• Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
• Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem identification and solution abilities.
• Commercially and financially aware.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee procurement processes to meet specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure alignment with specifications and budgets.
• Utilize data analysis to inform decision-making and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Lead negotiations, manage contracts, and foster strong vendor relationships.
• Drive strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing procurement practices and cost reduction.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless supply chain operations.

Salary is dependent on experience & qualifications.
