PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER - DURBANPUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGERCONTRACT (2 YEARS) -Durban OfficeThe South African Population Research Infrastructure Network (SAPRIN) seeks to appoint an experienced and qualified Public Relations Manager. The role would suit a driven professional, a multitasker with an eye for detail who can navigate media, corporate communications, marketing, stakeholder engagement, and public outreach activities. This involves some travelling to various sites from time to time.About the role:Together with the SAPRIN management team, you will develop and implement the communication and public outreach plan, forge and maintain new stakeholder relationships, and enhance PR/media exposure while ensuring effective messaging for the SAPRIN brand. Write and edit key publications such as the Annual Report and newsletter and promote the organisation through online and offline channels.Responsibilities:Work with the line manager in the development and implementation of a PR and communication strategy that includes media outreach and social media content creation.Play a key role in public outreach activities, including facilitation, collaboration and/or coordination and get buy-in from stakeholders.Establish and maintain good relations with a range of media houses and journalists and respond to media queries and requests.Coordination for stakeholder engagements such as conferences and exhibitions.Write or edit print and digital content, develop press releases, coordinate press briefings, and issuing of all SAPRIN publications including the newsletters.Write and develop promotional material such as pamphlets.Communications planning and ensuring optimum use and maintenance of all SAPRIN communication channels.On-time production and distribution of relevant information about SAPRIN to all internal and external stakeholders.Monitor and improve SAPRIN media and social media coverage and analyse weekly, monthly, and quarterly media reports.Enhance the image of SAPRIN through a range of media platforms and promote SAPRINxe2x80x99s research programmes and nodes, positive achievements, and highlights.Broad functional areas:Public relations management.Organisational communications coordination.Multimedia project management and design.Core Requirements:Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, or marketing.At least 10 years marketing and communication experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Project management skills.Pragmatic creative thinking.Reporting skills.Attention to detail.Valid driverxe2x80x99s license.Added Advantages:Experience in the health or NPO (Not for Profit) sector.Experience in the policy sector.Experience in a research or academic environment.Ability to work collaboratively and productively.PRISA accreditation.Terms & Conditions: The SAMRC retains the right not to make an appointment.
