Lesedi, as an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) company, seeks a Proposals Engineer to lead and project management the preparation of multiple competitive bids in response to client enquiries. In this crucial role, you will manage the proposal process from business development and tender inception through clarifications and up to tender award, ensuring all submissions are compliant and professional. You will interface with various divisions and support services to gather required inputs, drive the process to conclusion, and submit compliant bids on time. Your work will be essential to our tender-driven business, helping us secure new projects through well-prepared and competitive proposals.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Proposal Project Management
Read and evaluate tender documents thoroughly
Identify critical returnables for proposal inclusion
Lead and allocate tasks to responsible resources and departments
Assemble supplied information and confirm adequacy of returnables
Assist with tendering processes including legal, technical, board, and commercial aspects
Ensure compliance with Lesedi's Tendering Processes and Procedures
Meet proposal deadlines consistently
Proposal Coordination
Evaluate returnables and identify responsible parties for submissions
Collaborate with and drive resources responsible for returnable submissions
Lead the proposals process according to established procedures
Assist and guide the development process
Expedite submission processes and ensure compliance
Collate tender returnables into compliant, competitive proposals
Proposal Feedback
Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders
Interface management of various involved parties
Identify and escalate problematic areas/topics effectively
Provide regular status updates to the Proposals Manager
Maintain professional client communication
Track and follow up on outstanding requirements
QUALIFICATION
Degree in an Engineering field
Project management qualification (advantageous)
EXPERIENCE
2-4 years post-qualification practical tendering experience
Experience in an engineering industry/EPC environment (beneficial)
Experience with construction contracts (NEC/FIDIC/Bespoke) (beneficial)
Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills
Cost Engineering/Estimating capability (advantageous)

Understanding of estimating processes
Knowledge of procurement processes
Good knowledge of project management and proposals processes
Sound ability to accurately read, analyse, understand and interpret tender documents
Procedure implementation and development skills
Skills:
Sound working knowledge of MS Office suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word)
Proficiency with Adobe (PDF Pro)
Experience working in proposal teams
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to manage interfaces with different stakeholders
