Our client in the Renewable Energy industry, based in Humansdorp, Kouga, is currently looking to employ a Projects Operations Officer.

Requirements:

  • University Degree in relevant field (e.g. Social Sciences, Development Studies).
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience, ideally in an NGO or well acknowledged CBO, having experience of working with government stakeholders and project fund/grant management.
  • Experience in all aspects of project management.
  • Proficient in both verbal and written English, and Xhosa or Afrikaans.
  • Knowledge of database management and good command over MS Office.
  • Willingness to undertake extensive field trips within the four communities of the working area.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Project Management:
  • Research and assist in developing community interventions that are aligned to the Trustxe2x80x99s theory of change strategy.
  • Conduct the necessary due diligence on service providers prior to contractual agreements are finalized.
  • Assist in drafting the service level agreements for Board approved projects.
  • Support partners to manage all aspects of the project cycle, including planning, implementation and monitoring.
  • Ensure all project documentation and reports produced on time.
  • Coordinate with partners for timely submission of quarterly reports and KPIxe2x80x99s.
  • Work with the General Manager to review the progress reports, analyze KPIs and timely feedback to the partners.
  • Develop and implement Projectxe2x80x99s work plans on annual/six monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Carry out regular field visits to ensure smooth implementation of project activities.
  • Prepare briefing papers/project updates for periodic review sub-committee meetings.
  • Compile project beneficiary case studies when required.
  • Support GM in new project proposal writings, when required.
  • Any other task assigned by the GM.
Community and Stakeholder Development:
  • Maintain and strengthen partnership with implementing partners and stakeholders.
  • Support the GM for networking with key stakeholders working in the project districts.
  • Provide leadership in planning, coordinating community engagements.
  • Provide support to the communications and social media resources of the Trust by ensuring correct content is shared.
Advocacy:
  • Participate in community-based structures in raising awareness of the work that the Trust is involved in.
  • Assist partners to conduct community-based workshops and to secure community buy-in of interventions.
  • Represent the Trust at stakeholder meetings and workshops as part of the support to the GM in raising organizational profile.
Financial & Resource Management:
  • Work closely with the Finance & Administrative Officer to prepare monitoring and expenditure reports.
  • Ensure that partners manage and utilize project assets as per Trust policies and guidelines.
  • Provide day-to-day supervisory oversight on the Community Liaison Coordinator
