Project Planner

Job Description


The Projects Planner will report to the Workshop Manager. The Planner will be responsible for preparing and monitoring planning schedules of all repairs from the initial proposal stages through to engineering, procurement, sales, delivery, installation and commissioning phases. The Planner will be required to report and measure the progress of each activity and will be responsible for the development and consolidation of expertise, methodologies, tools and best practices related to resource planning and risk management.

Planning

? Working from the product Bill of Material, generating production orders into SAP B1 system.

? Develop production schedules for the workshop with a 3 week forecast plan.

? Ensure implementation of the production schedule.

? Coordinate the activities of manufacturing taking into account the different steps of production (warehouse / make / machine / assembly).

? Ensure the production is launched in respect of the production plan.

? Ensuring customer satisfaction with the lead time of deliveries.

? Analysis and workload planning of SPARE PARTS AND REPAIRS

? Establishment of a detailed list of activities and deliverables, work sequences, durations and identification of critical activities.

? Measure and report the progress of all activities and deliverables.

? Monitor and report cost earned vs cost spent for each activity and deliverable.

? Conduct gap analysis exercises, planning revisions and preparation of information for weekly / monthly progress reports.

? Define the capacity supported by workshops.

? Develop action plans to ensure adequate load / capacity.

? Monitor and advise of the needs of internal and external outsourcing.

? Participating to tendering pricing, as required.

? Ensure the proper functioning of SAP.

? Update the forecasted data with real values spent.

? Ensure the proper functioning of the system to ensure a high level of performance.

? Contribute to weekly KPI monitoring.

? Liaise with the workshop floor, ensure the correct application of the schedule.

? Comply with the OHS Act (83 of 1995) / employee section

? Standardization of documentation

Education & Qualifications
? Recognised Project Management Qualification
? MS Projects / Primivera / SAP or similar to allow for accurate planning / scheduling
? Technical qualification required re ND or BTech or Trade Test
