Our Client in Cape Town is looking for an accomplished Project Leader / Mechanical Engineer.
This is a highly impactful role for a Professionally Registered Engineer (ECSA) with proven project management experience and solid technical expertise within large-scale or government projects.
Key Requirements:
- ECSA registration as a professional mechanical engineer, with a minimum of 2 years' post-registration experience.
- Demonstrable project management and delegation skills - able to steer multiple projects under strict deadlines.
- Background in government health infrastructure or similarly high-complexity projects is a strong plus.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and robust formal writing and administration abilities.
- Experience in financial oversight for projects, including accurate cash flow projections and PSP fees.
The Role:
- Oversee the delivery, management, and reporting for complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Ensure rigorous cash flow management, maintain impeccable project documentation, and drive adherence to programme schedules and deadlines.
- Lead and monitor consultant and contractor performance from appointment through delivery.
- Professionally review and endorse contract instructions, time extension claims, and manage intricacies of JBCC 6.2 and NEC 3 & 4 contracts.
- Conduct thorough site inspections focused on mechanical and fire installations, ensuring regulatory compliance and quality assurance.
