Job Description

Hire Resolve's client, a dynamic and reputable engineering consultancy known for delivering high-quality building services solutions across commercial, healthcare, and industrial sectors, is currently seeking a Senior PR Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in mechanical design and system integration, particularly in HVAC systems. Experience in hospital projects and fire system supervision will be a significant advantage.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of HVAC systems for various building projects
Perform electrical load computations relevant to mechanical systems
Size and select air handling equipment, pumps, and piping systems
Ensure accurate airflow and system balancing across installations
Conduct energy calculations and ensure systems meet sustainability standards
Apply thermodynamics principles to assess system performance and efficiency
Evaluate the mechanical behavior of materials under different loads and conditions
Oversee project implementation and provide technical supervision, particularly in fire and hospital-related projects
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and manage client expectations
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Professionally registered with ECSA (Pr. Eng.) with a minimum of 5 years post-registration experience
Proven experience designing HVAC systems and mechanical building services
Strong analytical skills in thermodynamics, energy modeling, and material behavior
Competent in sizing of mechanical systems including pumps, pipes, and airflow units
Familiarity with fire system supervision and hospital building requirements is advantageous
Excellent communication and project coordination skills
Based in or willing to relocate to Pretoria
