Job Description


  • To ensure the delivery of quality, timely, cost effective reporting for Group Strategic Risk in terms of defined reporting obligations and in response to the drive for better control environment
  • To plan; track; monitor and control activities of small projects to ensure that project goals/objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame; agreed quality and funding parameters enabled through Nedbank project methodologies and people management
Job Responsibilities

Drive the strategic effectiveness of Group Risk reporting through efficient planning and coordination of the entire suite of Group Strategic Risk reporting and communications deliverables. Manage coordination across all risk divisions and business clusters enterprise-wide, to ensure awareness of and adherence to internal and external reporting schedules. Support the Group Strategic Risk division in the planning of consolidated reports to facilitate effective management of the Group Risk portfolio at executive and board level. Improve the efficiency of workflow and governance processes and drive systems improvement in collaboration with technical resources.

RISK MANAGEMENT:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders (internal and external providers) by engaging with them formally and informally e.g. in meetings; problem solving sessions and training sessions.
  • Support the achievement of the business strategy; objectives and values by reviewing Nedbank and Business Unit Plan and ensuring delivered systems; process; services and solutions are aligned.
  • Share knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interaction.
MANAGE PROCESS:
  • Plan schedules for recurring reporting cycles as well as ad hoc special projects within Group Strategic Risk. Managing the operational planning (quality planning, business continuity, etc)
  • Coordinate work with team members and other risk areas throughout the bank. Ensure effective planning and adherence to timelines and actively manage disruptions or delays.
  • Work with technical resources to continually enhance processes around coordinating and submitting reports. Improve the operational efficiency of the committee processes.
  • Managing Group Strategic Risk reporting and project performances against agreed targets, and within policies and standards.
  • Ensures that everyone involved adheres to the scope of work as per the project/reporting plan.
  • Collaborate with the Group Secretariat to provide required information, prepare annual reporting matrixes, meeting planners and calendars.
  • Maintain confidentiality on all matters, documents, and information relating to the organisation
  • Ensure all stakeholders needs are accurately captured in scope and signed off by stakeholders.
  • Ensure optimal management of reporting by adhering to regulations and policies and procedures, making continuous improvements, maintaining high standards and making sure that management information (MI) for stakeholders is fair and accurate.

MANAGE DATA AND INFORMATION:
  • Gather and accurately consolidate project dependencies.
  • Facilitate effective use of data sources and reporting tools.
  • Continually enhance data processes and coordinate the automation of manual data sources.
  • Maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of the reporting framework by meeting and improving targeted operational standards and ensuring high levels of straight-through processing of data and single-source principles.
GENERAL:
  • Ensure the growth of Group Strategic Risk's reputation with defined stakeholders through adequate and proactive communication, using appropriate communication channels.
  • Optimise Group Strategic Rist reporting and communications by reviewing production and aggregation processes, identifying bottlenecks and making recommendations and implementing enhancements to improve data management.
  • Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (eg staff surveys etc.).
  • Participate and support corporate social responsibility initiatives for the achievement of key business strategies.
  • Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and demonstrate the values through interaction with team and stakeholders.
  • Improve personal capability and stay abreast of developments in field of expertise by identifying training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from managers
  • Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring all learning activities are completed; experience practiced and certifications obtained and/or maintained within specified time frames.
PROMOTE DEVELOPMENT AND LEARNING:
  • Take ownership of your role and personal development to cultivate a deeper understanding of information to better meet requirements of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attend training and meetings as required.
  • Undertake other duties as requested by the superiors
Minimum Experience Level
  • 2-3 years working in a project environment including exposure to management of small projects
  • 2-3 years experience in risk management/monitoring, audit, and/or experience in banking
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
  • Professional Qualifications/Honour's Degree
