Project Manager (fibre Optic) 3 Month Contract (tb)
Job Description
Must have 5 to 8 year's experience in the rollout of fibre projects in a supervisory capacity and be knowledgeable about fibre installations related to both underground and overhead fibre installations.
Overseeing the planning, execution and completion of fibre optic network deployment projects.
Fibre optic installation, splicing, and testing.
Proficient with OTDRs, fusion splicers, power meters, and related test tools.
Confident interpreting fibre network designs and techn ical documentation.
Supervise the installation and rollout of fibre projects.
Ensure compliance with M&Ps for fibre installations.
Manage and coordinate subcontractor teams effectively, manage timelines and budgets, ensure quality and safety standards are met, and communicate with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Monitor and ensure all health and safety protocols are followed on-site.
Matric plus relevant IT/Telecoms qualification.
Must have PM certification (PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP or similar).
Technical certifications in fibre optics (e.g., FOA, CFOT) are advantageous.
Minimum of 5 to 8 years minimum work experience as a Fibre Optic Project Manager overseeing the planning, execution and completion of fibre optic network deployment projects.
Solid understanding of fibre installations related to both underground and overhead fibre installations.
Experience managing subcontractor teams.
Proven track record in managing teams and projects within the telecoms environment.
Be available to work remotely for extended periods when required by the project.
Computer literate:
MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project etc.)Between 7 - 10 Years
