Job Purpose:



We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead change management projects within the UJ Human Capital Managementdivision.

Key Responsibilities:


Lead the change management planning, execution, and delivery of projects ensuring effective management of risks and resistance. Be a part of the team to develop, implement and project manage change management strategies. Build and maintain strong relationships with executives, managers, employees, and unions to ensure alignment and support of projects in the UJ Human Capital Managementdivision. Facilitate communication, engagement, and training interventions to drive change readiness. Monitor and report to senior management on project progress, risks, and outcomes, whilst ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and time. Be involved in the change management required to promote employee involvement, continuous improvement, and adherence to labour legislation and university policies.

Minimum requirements




A Bachelor's degree (NQF Level 7) in a Business related field. At least 5 years' experience in project management with a track record in human resource change management initiatives (e.g., Conditions of Service, Policies, etc.). Proven experience in leading complex organisation-wide change initiatives.

Competencies and Behavioural Attributes:


Strong knowledge of project management methodologies. Expertise in change management. Understanding of HCM practices and information systems. Facilitation, presentation, and report-writing skills. Strong leadership, emotional intelligence, and ability to manage resistance and build trust. Problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Recommendations:


Remuneration related consulting experience would be an advantage. Be either a Certified Accredited Project Manager (CAPM) with PMO or have the equivalent of a the PMP certification from PMI. Change Management certification (CMC). Experience in the SA higher education, public sector, or complex organisational environments.
