Reporting to the Project Office Manager, the successful incumbent shall be required to possess the ability and energy to maintain all accounting related competencies in the role, as well as be able to maintain a positive attitude, and display a strong work ethic, that is motivated, hardworking, and most importantly, that is willing to learn. The Project Accounting's role shall be required to but not limited to - the capturing and processing of financial transactions and prepare management accounts and processing of income journals
Minimum Requirements
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in commerce, with a major in accounting
Must have completed SAICA/SAIPA accounting articles
Minimum of three years' experience in an accounting field
Report writing and project management skills
Be able to work in a team
Have good time management skills
Good communication skills
The ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
Be customer service orientated and pay special attention to detail
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Capturing and processing of financial transactions
Prepare monthly reconciliations;
Assist in preparing management accounts
Preparation and processing of income recognition journals
Processing the drawdowns journals
Processing of the interest journals
Reviewing journals from the research units
Assist in reviewing financial reports from research units
* Perform budget conformations before procurement takes place
