Job Summary

An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced professional to fulfill the role of Programme Manager
on a fixed term contract of three months based at our Head Office in Alton, Richards Bay. The overall
purpose of this position is to ensure the overall management and implementation of internal and external
capital projects.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Provide guidance and direction to Project Managers responsible for individual projects; * Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders so as to ensure the successful implementation of

projects; * Mentoring and support on technical issues to other departments;

  • Monitor budget estimates, the establishment of project budget, and projected cash flow.
  • Carry the overall responsibility for the appropriate expenditure of budgeted funds during the life cycle of all
projects being implemented by the Project Managers. * Ensure the resolution of the conflict between contractors, consultants, and Project Managers;
  • Monitor progress on the turnaround strategies for projects ensuring enhancement of cost-effective services as targeted by the Board.
  • Liaise with all project team members, role players, and stakeholders involved with the project on an ongoing
basis. * Report on project progress against key performance areas.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • A Bachelor of Engineering Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering and
a minimum of ten years of relevant experience at a middle management level are essential. * Project Management experience in a construction environment and sound knowledge of project

management and financial management is required. * Must be registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist, with ECSA with xe2x80x9cactivexe2x80x9d

registration status * Must be professionally registered with the South African Council for the Project and Construction
  • Management professions (SACPCMP) as a Pr. Construction Manager or a Pr. Construction Project
  • Manager with xe2x80x9cActivexe2x80x9d registration status.Advanced report writing skills, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
  • Must have a sound understanding of different forms of contracts (GCC 2015, NEC 3, FIDIC, JBCC, and CIDB
regulations, Construction Regulations 2014, etc. * Financial acumen and Proficiency in Public Procurement Tender Processes
  • Computer literate, MS Office
  • Able to work well under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines, as well as the ability to deal with diverse
individuals. * Code EB Driver's license and owning an appropriate vehicle are essential.
  • Able and willing to travel long distances in rough terrain on occasion, and work long hours as and when
required. * Proficiency in isiZulu and English.
  • Proficiency in the management of large and small civil and/or water engineering projects.
  • Excellent financial acumen.
