Applications are invited from qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills and competencies to take on this exciting position from January 2024 Programme Coordinator of Teacher Intern Training in Capricorn: The focus of the Coordinator will be to work with 49 teacher interns, mentors, school managers and Capricorn District DBE.
The requirements for this challenging position include:

  • Minimum 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience preferably in the education field with a suitable professional qualification
  • Previous involvement in schools or educational community engagement programmes
  • Experience in educational leadership, assessment and moderation, monitoring and evaluation
  • A sound and progressive understanding of the South African education context
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including report writing
  • Exceptional planning and organising skills with attention to detail regarding day-to-day operational running of the programme
  • Passion for the development of the teaching profession
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders within the Capricorn District
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and work independently
  • Experience in project management
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal office hours including Saturdays
  • A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College

  • Implementation and monitoring of the teacher intern training within the Capricorn District programme
  • Regular liaison with the relevant staff and schools to ensure effective implementation of the programmes
  • Assist Thandulwazi/Penreach in overseeing the organic growth of the programme.
  • Overseeing the professional aspects of the programme: ensuring that the standards of academic excellence and training are upheld
  • Working with Thandulwazi/Penreach to ensure accurate reporting and monitoring of the programme
  • Willingness to gain knowledge in new educational programmes and applications for possible implication to enhance the programm e (open to learn new skills and growing and developing the programme)
  • Monitoring and evaluation including visits to community partner schools
