Requirements:


Applicants must preferably have a mining engineering background and have earned doctorate in rock engineering; National Research Foundation (NRF) rating or potential to apply for NRF rating; teaching experience or potential to teach at University level; a good research track record with more than 1000 (500 for associate professor) citations with evidence of H-index; 30 (15 for associate professor) journal publications or equivalents as defined in the South African Department of Higher Education and Training guidelines; and evidence of local and international collaborations. Duties:


Duties will include undergraduate and postgraduate lecturing; supervision of postgraduate research; undertaking personal research, including attracting research grants and earning research income; mentoring early-career academics; promoting innovation in the School; and participation in administrative activities at the School, Faculty and University levels.
