FULL PROFESSOR

A PhD in Physics A minimum of ten (10) years of consistent, extensive, and excellent performance in teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision (Master's and Doctoral) Achievement of international recognition through research outputs within the last ten (10) years, emphasizing recent research outputs. Significant contribution to community engagement.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

A PhD in Physics. A minimum of seven (7) years of consistent, extensive, and excellent performance in teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision. Achievement of national and/or international recognition through research outputs within the last seven (7) years. Significant contribution to community engagement.

Additional Recommendations

The applicant should have a broad knowledge of Physics modules and a good research profile. A broad understanding of current research developments and teaching trends within the discipline Good communication and presentation skills Good organizational and planning skills Ability to work both independently and in a team Competency in Microsoft Office applications and a strong work ethic Experience in e-Learning

Summary of Duties

Management of all learning, teaching, assessment, and research matters. Assist in curriculum development Conduct research and publish in accredited journals

HEAD OF DEPARTMENT

Five (5) years fixed contract, renewable for one additional term based on performance Appointment at Professor/ Associate Professor


Minimum requirements:


A PhD in the relevant discipline


Relevance in this context will depend on the cluster of academic programmes located in the department

Five (5) years' experience in higher education and academic leadership Scholarship leadership and scholarship


Summary of duties

Dealing with student queries and complaints regarding the Department/Programme. Managing and supervising staff which includes: - + The allocation of
+ Leave management.
+ Enhancing staff relations and building a team towards a student centred department.
+ Attending to matters such as study leave, grievances, disputes, training & development.
+ Appointment of part-time and replacement
+ Programme and project
+ Enhancing Faculty projects g. Post graduate Recruitment and supervision, Siyaphumelela, FYSE, Orientation and Graduation.
+ To provide leadership to the department with respect of teaching & learning and research.
