A professional degree in a Built Environment Profession, preferably
Urban Planning/City and Regional Planning or equivalent (four-year
undergraduate or postgraduate Masters) recognised by SACPLAN
for registration as a professional planner
A minimum of two (2) years' relevant postgraduate experience in
the built environment, which includes experience in assisting with
project planning, compilation of planning brief and frameworks,
property development processes and/or land use management
processes
Knowledge of local government processes and systems will be
highly advantageous
A valid Code EB driver's licence
Working towards or completed registration as a professional planner
A qualification in project management would be an advantage.
Key Performance Areas
Participate in project planning and packaging medium to large
scale and complex strategic TOD land development initiatives, as
part of the City's Precinct Development Programme
Participate in providing project planning and management services
in respect of strategic urban planning and TOD projects and
initiatives, including development frameworks and precinct planning
exercises that require project management services, coordination
between multiple role players and stakeholders, and specialist
technical input
Undertake investigation of targeted sites and precincts within the
City to address issues that preclude the realisation of strategic and
catalytic planning and development objectives.
