The purpose of this post is to plan, implement, provide and manage comprehensive Primary Health Care, HIVAIDS preventative, care and support, and Infectious Disease management to all students of the Nelson Mandela University at George Campus in accordance with the SA Nursing Act, and all other related legislation.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Provide comprehensive, quality Primary Health Care (PHC) and management of medical emergency services to all students of the Nelson Mandela University in line with
Provide comprehensive, quality HIVAIDS preventative, curative, care and support services to all students of the Nelson Mandela University
Ensure that all work is performed within the boundaries of all relevant legislation about clinical and medical administrative activities.
Apply sound management principles about record keeping, statistics, general orders, and overseeing a particular health program.
Sound knowledge pertaining to Internal and external collaboration focusing on outreach projects, referral, and support services.
Educational and research-related support to students doing projects, internships, or practical sessions.
Provide comprehensive Infectious disease management to students
Assist with transporting needs of the unit on and off-campus
CORE COMPETENCIES

Experience in rendering comprehensive adult primary care to young adults.
Experience in rendering comprehensive HIV/AIDS services to young adults.
A sound knowledge of all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures pertaining to PHC, HIV/AIDS, and Infectious Diseases Management.
Strong skills pertaining to planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluation activities such as campaigns, workshops, talks, and outreach programs.
Excellent computer skills Microsoft and Excell Intermediate
Experience of Tier.net, capturing and uploading to DOH
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Knowledge of Communicable diseases and health and safety protocols
REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for appointment to this post, candidates should have:
A Degree or Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery; Qualifications in community health nursing.
Certificate in Adult primary care or PACK guidelines
TB care and Communicable Disease management
Certificates in Sexually Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS, HCT/NIMART training,
A dispensing course is essential.
Candidates must be currently registered with the South African Nursing Council and indemnity cover.
A minimum of at least three years experience in a Primary Health care setting is needed.
A code 8 drivers license is essential.
Preference will be given to a Speciality in Primary Health Care
