Professional Engineer - PretoriaIntroductionMeridian Energy operates in the energy efficiency and renewable energy market and focuses on commercial and industrial projects, as well as utility and residential projects. The entity is currently experiencing growth and looking to grow the team as a result. We are looking for a Professional Engineer to join our team on a 3 - 6 month fixed term contract with potential for permanent placement.Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the Engineering and Design of renewable energy projectsProvision of technical and management expertise and involvement throughout the project lifecycle, from inception, through feasibility into construction and commissioning;Producing tender drawingsProducing single line diagramsCompilation of BOQs and preparation of tender documents and project specificationsTender evaluation and identification of tender opportunitiesPlay a key role in project management and will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control of projects from inception to completionManagement of technicians, project engineers, master electricians, project managers and contractors.Work with Energy Efficiency initiatives such as power factor correction, photo voltaic cells, variable speed drives, luminaires, time of use tariff, demand management, energy recovery, etc.Observing health and safety guidelinesManagement and maintenance of Client relationships and co-ordination of project execution within scope, timeframe, safety, cost and to the Client's satisfaction;Participation in engineering activities and interdisciplinary interfaces in close cooperation with the other discipline Engineers;Contributing to the development of the organisational Quality Management SystemEnsuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with the Quality Management System.
