Job Summary xe2x80xa2 Responsible for the Engineering and Design of renewable energy projects xe2x80xa2 Provision of technical and management expertise and involvement throughout the project lifecycle, from inception, through feasibility into construction and commissioning; xe2x80xa2 Producing tender drawings xe2x80xa2 Producing single line diagrams xe2x80xa2 Compilation of BOQs and preparation of tender documents and project specifications xe2x80xa2 Tender evaluation and identification of tender opportunities xe2x80xa2 Play a key role in project management and will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control of projects from inception to completion xe2x80xa2 Management of technicians, project engineers, master electricians, project managers and contractors. xe2x80xa2 Work with Energy Efficiency initiatives such as power factor correction, photo voltaic cells, variable speed drives, luminaires, time of use tariff, demand management, energy recovery, etc. xe2x80xa2 Observing health and safety guidelines xe2x80xa2 Management and maintenance of Client relationships and co-ordination of project execution within scope, timeframe, safety, cost and to the Client's satisfaction; xe2x80xa2 Participation in engineering activities and interdisciplinary interfaces in close cooperation with the other discipline Engineers; xe2x80xa2 Contributing to the development of the organisational Quality Management System xe2x80xa2 Ensuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with the Quality Management System. Qualifications xe2x80xa2 National Diploma/BTech/BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering (NQF Level 7) xe2x80xa2 Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer (PR.Eng) xe2x80xa2 Completed or in the process of completing a postgraduate qualification would be advantageous. xe2x80xa2 Qualification in Project Management would be advantageous xe2x80xa2 Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Certification would be advantageous Technical Skills xe2x80xa2 Have 5+ years' experience working in the renewable energies, process, and utilities industries, including project experience xe2x80xa2 Have 5+ years' experience with commissioning of renewable energy projects xe2x80xa2 Your sound knowledge of Health and Safety, compliance and inspections to authorize COC's, as well as ensuring work at height permits and other requirements are met. xe2x80xa2 A natural, self-motivated and astute ability to self-manage and take responsibility for the company's technical performance is essential. xe2x80xa2 Manage Subcontractor installation teams is an advantage. xe2x80xa2 Understanding of Inverter systems and commissioning of such systems an advantage. xe2x80xa2 Understanding of Municipal embedded generation bylaws and standards an advantage. xe2x80xa2 Demonstrated experience in Plant Electrical Reticulation, Electrical Protection Systems, MV, and Switching equipment xe2x80xa2 Demonstrate experience in Earthing and Bonding best practices xe2x80xa2 Power Simulation software skills Personal Attributes xe2x80xa2 Demonstrate sound work ethics xe2x80xa2 Accuracy and attention to detail xe2x80xa2 Efficient and reliable xe2x80xa2 Punctuality xe2x80xa2 Deadline Driven xe2x80xa2 Team Player xe2x80xa2 Ability to prioritize xe2x80xa2 Good communication skills xe2x80xa2 Problem solver/Quick thinker xe2x80xa2 Sober habits Contract Details xe2x80xa2 3 - 6 month fixed term contract with potential for permanent placement xe2x80xa2 Cost to company per month (TBD based on relevant experience, terms) xe2x80xa2 Immediate start date
