Job Description

Join Lactalis at our plant in Eastern Cape Port Elizabeth Plant UHT department and take on
the challenging role of a Production Coordinator. Successful candidates need to have 3-5
years in a FMCG environment. They must also have the knowledge of HACCP principles.
Have the ability to lead a diverse team of employees and willing to work shifts
Required Skills

  • NQF5 Manufacturing Management diploma
  • At least 3 - 5 years' experience in a supervisory position in a manufacturing environment is essential
  • Able to manage and build a successful team
  • Interpersonal understanding, organisational awareness and direction will be advantageous.
  • Planning, organizing and staff motivation skills.
  • Exposure to and sound knowledge of the production environment is essential Good interpersonal skills
  • Must have people management experience and conflict resolution.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work shifts, weekends and publics when necessary.
  • Must good knowledge of ISO22000/FSSC22000 as well as strong understand of prerequisite
  • programs (GMP, HACCP, etc.)
  • Technical knowledge of small packaging equipment
  • Must have the ability to take crucial decisions;
  • Computer Literate - (Microsoft suite proficient);
  • Preferably have knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. BPCS); and
  • High attention to detail..
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Plan and organize production for all shifts in order to meet production targets on a continued
basis;
  • Ensure quality control throughout the production process;
  • Drive troubleshooting and Problem-solving, as well as liaise with different support functions
  • Coordinate weekly cares and planned downtime for preventive maintenance on the in
adherence to Food Safety standards;
  • Manage production bookings/ invoicing, daily cycle counts and explain stock variances;
  • Manage material losses and waste;
  • Assist with implementation of continuous improvement initiatives/ projects within the
department;
  • Manage teams or people as well as resolve conflict;
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with company code of conduct and procedures;
  • Ensure food safety and quality standards are maintained; and
  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained
  • Compile and evaluate the Key Performance Areas of the people reporting to you.
  • Manage KRONOS on a daily basis, including controlling of INV19.
  • Manage, team leaders, Shift Controllers, Checkers and Clerks.
