Are you an experienced product sourcer and negotiator with a passion for finding great products and building strong supplier relationships?

We are looking for a dynamic sourcing professional to join our Cape Town team, sourcing fashion, sport, lifestyle, outdoor and home accessories for some of South Africa's leading retailers.

What You'll Do:

Source and build relationships with international suppliers -- mainly in Asia (China focus) Negotiate product costs, terms and delivery schedules Confirm product duties, accurate costing and gross margins Work closely with our merchandising team to develop and customise products for briefs Manage sampling, approvals, QC processes and supplier sign-off Coordinate with our in-house import logistics and clearing post Track inbound samples and shipments to ensure on-time delivery Identify and solve supply chain challenges proactively Attend international trade shows and visit factories where needed Drive quality feedback, negotiate replacements or credits when required

Who You Are:

Proven experience in sourcing, buying or client sales (ideally with Asian suppliers) Strong understanding of the full sourcing process -- from product development to delivery Commercially astute -- comfortable working with pricing, GP, and margin targets Skilled negotiator -- securing best terms while maintaining strong relationships Detail-focused -- accuracy in costing, documentation, and process tracking Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines Advanced Excel and computer skills essential (Outlook, WeChat, Monday.com etc.) Familiar with international shipping and customs processes Mandarin or Cantonese language an advantage Retail sector knowledge (fashion or lifestyle products) a bonus Driver's licence and own transport SA citizen or valid work permit required
