Job Description

SUMMARY:
Large manufacturing company situated in Sandton seeking a Product Manager / Sales Specialist to provide technical support to customers.
POSITION INFO:
The Product Manager will be responsible for:

  • Planning and executing tasks that guide a product through its lifecycle.
  • Defining the vision and targets, working closely with cross-functional departments.
  • Providing technical support and training when required.
  • Understanding customer needs and ensuring the product aligns with business goals.
Key Performance Areas - Key Work:
1. Management Reporting
  • Report status of action plans, roadmap and promotions
2. Managing Instruments, Tools & Identification Division
  • Provide all product related activities for the division
3. Product Marketing
  • Provide analysis of the 4 P's of marketing
4. Technical Support
  • Provide technical support and training for the products
5. Sourcing of products
  • Communicate with all suppliers
  • Do Supplier visits
6. Supervision of product administration processes
  • Supervise the administration process of Master data files, Repairs and Calibration of products
7. Digitization
  • Provide support for On-line platforms and central technical online database
8. Competitor Analysis
  • Provide in-depth knowledge of competitors
9. Global marketing
  • Provide close collaboration with the company global entities

Additional Job-Related Requirements:
  • Excellent understanding of business best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Good leadership skills.
  • Build relationships with key electrical associations and testing laboratories.
  • Knowledge of the electrical market in Africa.
  • A good understanding of Customer Segmentation and channels to market.
  • Willingness to travel both locally, and overseas to suppliers and group entities.
  • Willingness to attend customer functions and exhibitions when required
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
  • NQF level 7 qualification in Electrical / Electronics / Sales and Marketing or equivalent.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Project and Procurement Management an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role and related environment.
