Job Description
Established textile manufacturer is seeking a suitably experienced Product Developer to be based in the factory perform the following:
- Labbing:
- To coordinate labs being sent to Dye house for clients and in-house shades.
- To send and approve all labs.
- Client Labels
- Ordering all labels for client orders
- Liaise with Sales regarding new clients' labels - paper sourcing, sizing, info, quotes.
- To keep track of label pricing.
- Liaise with the Finishing Department regarding label needs.
- Trade Shows
- Create all garments according to colour palette for trade shows overseas (may be required to travel on occasion)
- Product Development
- To create new garments for development and follow up with production.
- Test knit all developments for approval and correct needle sizing.
- Responsible for all sampling - samples sent to clients and potential clients.
- To coordinate swatch test for SABS etc
- Local Range
- Responsible for all labs and new textile developments.
- Marketing department to create their files
- Coordinating with Marketing staff
- Create all handwork for all files
- Swatches
- Label checking
- Collections
- Trend research regarding yarns & colours.
- Responsible for creating new Collections- files, swatches, photography.
- Develop ranges and catalogues
