Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead procurement and contract management activities within a technical manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for ensuring sound contract administration, supplier performance, cost optimisation, and the effective management of the Procurement function and team.
Key Responsibilities
Source, evaluate, select, and procure products and materials at the most competitive cost, aligned with quality and specification requirements
Maintain controlled procurement spend of 80%+
Monitor supplier lead times weekly via ERP systems
Compile RFPs and manage tender processes through to adjudication and award
Conduct commercial and quality supplier audits in collaboration with Quality teams
Manage and review contracts and SLAs on a monthly basis
Negotiate and manage price adjustments based on cost drivers
Maintain and update product catalogues, ensuring 95% compliance
Conduct monthly market research on pricing trends and new products
Maintain up-to-date supplier records, pricing, and product data
Manage departmental budgets and cost controls
Engage internal stakeholders to understand specifications and operational requirements
Provide weekly order status reports to business units
Maintain B-BBEE procurement reporting and submit annual reports
Set departmental and individual objectives aligned with business goals
Plan, allocate, and manage procurement team workload weekly
Build, develop, and retain a capable procurement team
Minimum Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field
Minimum 7 years' procurement experience in a technical, industrial, or manufacturing environment
At least 2 years' experience in a management or leadership role
Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and MS Project
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and resilience under pressure
Customer-focused mindset with a structured and analytical approach
