Procurement - Imports Clerk

The Procurement - Imports Clerk is responsible for purchasing and processing, handling purchase requests from department heads, obtaining price quotes from suppliers, scheduling deliveries, and addressing shortages or missed deliveries. They play a crucial role in sourcing raw materials, supplies for manufacturing, and stock orders ready for resale, maintaining communication with international suppliers.

Competencies:

The ideal candidate must exhibit the following key attributes:

Fluent in English Proficient in Microsoft Excel High level of proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Experience with Sage Evolution (advantageous) Minimum 2 years of experience in Sea Freight/Imports Strong mathematical and accounting abilities Effective time management skills Excellent reading comprehension Keen attention to detail
Experience and Skills:

Proven experience in managing time effectively Ability to comprehend written information accurately Confident decision-making abilities Meticulous focus on details Clear and effective writing skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Competent listening skills Sound abilities in negotiating
Education Required:

Matric (Grade 12 or equivalent).
Salary is market related
