Job SummaryOur client is looking for a Procurement and Planning Manager to join their team in Alberton, Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the procurement and planning functions to ensure optimal supply chain performance, efficient production scheduling, and compliance with ISO and health and safety standards. This position plays a key role in integrating procurement, demand and materials planning, production scheduling, and regulatory compliance to deliver cost-effective and customer-focused operations.Responsibilities:Develop and implement procurement strategies and departmental policiesNegotiate with suppliers for cost-effective pricing, quality, and timely deliveryEnsure supplier contracts and agreements are up to date and compliantPerform risk management on procurement activities and supplier performanceOversee customs, freight forwarding, and import/export requirementsMonitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions where necessaryIdentify cost-saving initiatives and drive supply chain efficiencyCollaborate with sales, production, design, and purchasing teams to align forecasts and production schedulesMaintain and revise the master production schedule based on demand and material availabilityAnalyze sales orders vs. available inventory and adjust plans accordinglyPlan and prepare for in-demand stock items, replenishment, and distribution requirementsIntegrate sales orders with master schedules to meet customer delivery deadlinesMonitor and report on inventory levels, stock accuracy, and wastageCoordinate stock takes and ensure accuracy of physical inventoryImplement material planning and sourcing processesManage and report on inventory movements and requirements in weekly production meetingsServe as liaison between procurement, sales, and production teamsBuild and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholdersEnsure compliance with customs, bond store regulations, and customer requirementsLead departmental KPIs, reporting, and performance analysisDevelop and report on forecasting, replenishment, and supply chain efficiencyDrive continuous improvement initiatives within procurement and planning functionsIdentify training needs and ensure skill development across the teamRequirements:National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Project ManagementMinimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, or planningMinimum 4 years' team management experienceExperience in material planning, demand planning, and sourcingWorking knowledge of customs, import/export, and freight forwardingAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)ERP systems knowledge (e.g., Pastel, Omni Accounts or equivalent)Solid understanding of ISO 9001 and Health & Safety legal requirementsBenefits:
