PROCESS ENGINEER

We are looking for a skilled Process Engineer who thrives on designing efficient water and wastewater treatment systems, managing projects, and collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with project management and wants to play a key role in building sustainable infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Designing water and wastewater treatment processes from first principles

Producing essential process design documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, control philosophies, equipment lists, and process descriptions

Managing small projects, including cost, time, and quality control

Ensuring adherence to health, safety, and quality standards on projects

Managing subcontractors, suppliers, and project schedules (Microsoft Project)

Assisting with proposals and tenders as required

Analysing sludge and waste disposal methods

Collaborating with clients, consultants, and contractors

Ensuring all designs and construction comply with municipal and national laws, regulations, and standards

Overseeing construction of new or refurbished water and wastewater plants

Supporting the Proposal and Design Lead when needed

Performing other duties as assigned by management

Requirements / Minimum Qualifications

A degree in Chemical, Process, or Environmental Engineering

Experience in water and wastewater process design

Strong understanding of treatment technologies, process calculations, and regulatory requirements

Junior project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and cost control

Knowledge of health, safety, and quality management systems

Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in process design software and Microsoft Project
