Job Summary

A prominent West Rand-based water treatment solutions provider is actively recruiting a skilled professional for the dual role of Process Engineer. In this multifaceted position, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising Settler Operators across diverse sites, conducting weekly underground inspections, engaging directly with clients, and participating in Head Office meetings. The scope of responsibilities spans water and wastewater treatment plant operations, sample testing, underground settler operations, sales, maintenance tasks, and laboratory testing for chemicals and services. This role necessitates a strategic and hands-on approach, combining technical expertise with effective client interaction and team leadership. Minimum requirement: BEng Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

Requirements:

• BEng Mechanical/Chemical Engineering
• Fully Completed Vaccination Certificate
• Own Vehicle with valid license
• No Criminal Record
• Clean bill of Health to pass client site medicals.
• Willing to work underground.
• Willing to travel to Mpumalanga regularly
• RSA Citizen - SA ID
• Excellent computer skills - Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office
• Energetic, hard worker
• Self-motivated and a self-starter
• Analytical for troubleshooting
• Interpersonal Skills in developing positive working relationships.
• Math Skills for using the principals of advanced math trouble shooting work, calculus for analysis.

Duties:

• Manage and oversee daily plant operations to ensure efficient production processes.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols, quality standards, and operational procedures to maintain a secure and compliant working environment.
• Lead and motivate a diverse team of plant employees, including operators, technicians, and support staff.
• Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to enhance team productivity and individual development.
• Coordinate and optimize the use of resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet production goals and budgetary constraints.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency.
• Establishing safety procedures for individuals working with dangerous chemicals
• Developing methods for separating components of gases and liquids or for generating electrical
• currents
• Conducting tests and monitoring the process performance throughout production
• Troubleshooting problems associated with processes.
• Evaluating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Estimating production costs
• Dealing directly with clients and the selling of solutions
• Assisting with reports to Management - report writing
